Home Hair Removal Techniques

By Angela Myers

Many woman, and even men, want to remove hair from various places on their body, however, most do not want to have to pay a lot of money to have it done. Often it can actually cost thousands of dollars to have hair removal done by a professional, and many people do not want to spend that kind of money. You should now that there are ways to remove your hair at home, for a fraction of the cost. Following are some of the most common at home hair removal techniques that you may want to consider for yourself.

For Men - Tips for Shaving

If you shave you may want to consider shaving in the shower. Having your beard get wet first will help it soften so it will be easier to shave and it will end up being a smoother shave as well. You should also remember that whether you use shaving cream or shaving gel, it is important that you apply it by massaging it into the skin. This will help the hair stand up so they will be easily cut by the razor. You will also find that a single blade will give you the best shave. Remember to change your razor when it is dull and also remember to shave the way your hair grows at first, and then shave against the grain. It will help to use cool water for an after shave rinse, and then lightly pat the skin dry.

For Women - Tips for Shaving

Women should always be sure to only shave with razor that were especially designed for women. These blades are made to fit the way your body is shaped. You should be sure to have warm water on the area you are shaving first, and then use your gel or shaving cream. Also many women find it best to shave at night as well. If you have to shave some unwanted facial hair you do not need to worry about it coming back worse, many have thought this to be the case, but it is not true.

Tweezing Tips

If you use tweezers to get rid of hair then you need to be sure that you clean them well with hot water before every use. If you have alcohol you should wipe them with it, which is even better than hot water. You can tweeze eyebrows to get rid of too much eyebrow hair, but you should not use tweezers on nose hairs, since infection could result. Before you tweeze be sure to use a warm cloth on the area before you start, and then be sure to only tweeze the way the hair naturally grows.

Depilatories Tips

Before you start using depilatories you may want to try them on a small area to make sure you do not have a bad reaction to them. Be sure that you follow the instructions and wait for awhile to see how it affects your skin. You should wait until after a bath or shower to use these since hair will be software. Make sure that you actually time the application so you do not keep this on for long a time or too short. Usually you will only have to use these about two times a month, but this will of course depend on how fast your hair grows.
