Men's Breast Plastic Surgery

By Chris Chew

If you have the Gynecomastia, you may be able to reduce this men's breast syndrome somewhat by exercising and dieting. Most people suffering from gynecomastia will need to undergo a cosmetic plastic surgery to reduce male breast more effectively.

The Men's breast syndrome is more common than often thought. The medical industry estimated that 30-40% of men suffer from enlarged breast condition depending on their race origin and genetic disposition.

Gynecomastia comes from the Greek word 'gyne', which means woman and 'mastos' which means breasts. In other words, Gyncomastia is the presence of larger than normal breasts on men and men afflicted by the condition are usually self conscious and some may even suffer from depression.

The gynecomastia condition is usually caused by the abundant growth of glandular and fatty tissues in the male breasts area. Males may be afflicted by this breast enlargement condition due to many factors such as hereditary, hormonal imbalances, steroid use, overweight, marijuana use, breast cancers, fibrosis, genetic disorders, Klinefelter Syndrome, testicular atrophy and/or failure, supplemental hormones and liver diseases. Gynecomastia usually occur during birth but also can be aquired with the onset of puberty or later due to the many reasons given earlier.

So if the enlarged male breast is caused by medication or substance consumed, then the breast syndrome can be easily reduced by stopping the medication or substance that are causing it.

Doctors divide Gynecomastia into four medical grades:-

Grade 1 - Small breast enlargement with no excess skin.

Grade 2A - Moderate breast enlargement with no excess skin.

Grade 2B - Moderate breast enlargement with extra skin.

Grade 3 - Marked breast enlargement with extra skin.

There are three types of plastic cosmetic surgery to correct gynecomastia:-

Grade 1: To remove a localized button of tissue that is concentrated around the nipples. The buttons can be easily removed.

Grade 2: To reduce gynecomastia where the edges of the tissue are indistinct. This tissue is difficult to taper. This can be done by the older dishing surgical procedure or by suction lipectomy.

Grade 3: To reduce male breast with excessive skin. These patients require external, meaning outside the nipple skin excisions or nipple repositioning or both.

As long as the patient is healthy, he can undergo the surgery anytime he wants to reduce his enlarged male breast condition. So, if you are suffering from men's breast syndrome and are feeling depressed about, go consult your doctor to see if a gynecomastia surgery is for you.
