Arm lift, also called brachioplasty, is a plastic surgery to tighten the hanging skin from the upper arm. People suffer from loose, saggy skin in their upper arm because with the age, the skin, bones and muscles get thinner which causes the loose arm. Exercising and dieting don't give the wanted results and usually the arm stays saggy.
Therefore Arm lift surgery is the answer. The arm lift surgery is made to tighten and reshape the upper arm so it will look better and thinner.

The best candidate for upper arm lift can be almost anyone who is healthy and have an elastic skin.

Arm Lift Plastic Surgery Procedure:

The upper arm lift surgery can be made under local or general anesthesia. An incision is made under the arm and the excess skin and fat are being removed. The procedure takes a few hours; then the patient will stay for observation and will be released usually at the same day. The surgery will leave a visible scar.

Risk and Complications of Arm Lift Plastic Surgery:

Like in every other surgery, some complication may occur: swellings, pain, bruising, infections, hypodermic hemorrhage, and scaring. All can be treated, turn to your doctor if you have any concerns.

Tips for Arm Lift Plastic Surgery:

  • Go only to certified places with recommendations.
  • Ask as many questions as you can about: the surgeon, the procedure, risks, results, the scar that will be left, recovery time, and more.
  • Make sure you have someone with you in the surgery so they can take you home after the arm lift surgery.
  • The recovery takes about 1-2 weeks, during this time the patient shouldn't lift any objects and be very careful on the arm. After the recovery period the patient may get back to normal mild activities.
  • The results are long lasting but not permanent, the age and years will do their thing.
  • For your consideration, you will have a long visible scar after the arm lift surgery. Make sure you talk to your doctor about it so you will know what to expect.
  • Ask your doctor for before and after pictures and try to find people with upper arm like you have so you will know what to expect. Also try to see the scar that is left after the upper arm surgery they had.
