Permanent make up is a cosmetic procedure in which a tattoo is made on the face where the make up is usually applied. The tattoo is very hard to get rid of and is permanent.

There are several purposes to apply permanent make up:

  • Permanent make up to save time during the day so the women won't have to apply make up in the morning or during the day.
  • Permanent make up to correct a flaw that appears because of: age, surgery, disease, and more.
  • Permanent make up to someone that suffers from allergies to the make up products and can't apply it in any other way.
The permanent make up can be applied on the whole face: eye brows, eye lid, mouth, cheeks and more; and also on the breast in order to create an artificial areola after breast reconstructive surgery.

Taking the permanent make up off:

The permanent make up is a tattoo which is made on the skin and therefore is not easy to take off.
The methods to take the permanent make up off are:
  • Laser treatments: Laser peeling of the upper layer of the skin to fade and remove as much as possible from the make up tattoo.
  • Dermabrasion: Using a spinning wheel device to take off the upper layer of the skin. The results are better looking smooth skin with no make up tattoo.
  • Chemical peeling: Applying chemical creams to smooth the skin by peeling its upper layer.

Risks of Permanent Make Up Cosmetic Surgery:

Just like tattoos the permanent make up can cause some complication, such as: allergies, infection, scars, asymmetry, change in color of the permanent make up, and more. If you experience any complication or unsatisfied from the result, turn to your surgeon or cosmetician.

Tips for Permanent Make Up Cosmetic Surgery:

  • Go only but only to certified cosmetician or permanent makeup artist, that has a lot of recommendation and a certificate to perform permanent makeup. Don't forget it is a permanent tattoo which is very hard to get rid of, so you want to get the best possible result.
  • Taking off the permanent make up is more painful then applying it as a tattoo and might not completely be removed.
  • To have the best result it is needed to have a few treatments, talk to your surgeon or cosmetician before you start the permanent make up procedure so you will know what to expect.
  • After the permanent make up treatment you will have very emphasized lines and swellings so you will need to stay at home for a few days and rest.
  • Ask as many questions as you can about: the surgeon or the cosmetician, results, risks, and what happens if you are not satisfied with the results.
  • Ask for before and after pictures so you will know what to expect from the permanent make up procedure. That way you will be able to tell if the surgeon or cosmetician are really artistic and suit your taste.
