Spider veins, also known as Telangiectasias, is a condition in which the veins next to skin surface are visible with purplish- red color. The spider veins are small diameter veins and group on one spot, such as: legs, hips, face, and nose. The spider veins mostly appear because of hormones, such as Estrogen, therefore more common in women. And also because of heredity and pregnancies.

The spider veins are not an important part of the venous system, therefore can be taken out. The spider veins mostly don't hurt but they can bleed if not treated and also not appealing.

Treatments for Spider Veins:

There are many ways to treat the spider vein.
  • The most popular way is by sclerotherapy, which is an injection of medication into the vein, the medication causes the spider veins to collapse and fade out.
  • Another way is by using laser treatments which eliminates the spider veins.
  • Incisions are also a way to treat the spider veins, the surgeon makes a few incisions where the spider veins group and take them out.

Tips for Spider Veins Cosmetic Surgery:

  • You must treat the spider veins before they turn to varicose veins, bleed and cause complications.
  • Treat the spider vein in a certified clinic that specializes in spider veins and other vein problems.
  • There is no cure and no way to prevent the spider veins. Therefore after having a spider vein treatment, it may appear again on different spots.
  • To relief the spider veins appearance and slow the development of new spider veins, it is best to put some compression support when walking and standing for long.
  • After treating the spider veins, the spot may turn red, swollen, and infected. Also there might be brownish color where the procedure was made, the spot will disappear but it might take a while.
  • On the day of the procedure, don't use any body creams, not even a sunblock.
  • Have someone come with you to take you home. The procedure is not long and you will be released at the same day.
  • After having the surgery, expect to get cramps and also bruises. You will need a few days to recover and get back to normal.
